Thai city

We are excited to be returning to the beautiful island of Koh Samed after a gap of 5 years!

A new pier on the mainland has meant that the south-east part of the island has become more accessible. We will be staying at Samed Cabana (www.samedcabana.com), a newly built resort in Ao Wong Duean. It is a small resort right on a white sand beach offering tranquillity and relaxation. Yet you can walk to the other end of the bay for café’s and beach restaurants, or take a truck taxi (most roads in Koh Samed are unmade) to Ao Phai and Had Sai Kaew for shopping, nightlife and dancing.

Koh Samed (sometimes written as Ko Samet) is located in the Gulf of Thailand 141 miles southeast of Bangkok. The island derives its name from the cajeput tree which grows everywhere on the island. Written about by classical Thai poet Sunthorn Phu (there are statues of his characters scattered around the island) the classical name of the island is Koh Kaew Phitsadan or the "Magic Crystal Island". The island is part of the beautiful Koh Samed National Park.

Samed Cabana resort, built on the edge of a white sandy beach, is one of Thailand’s hidden treasures. In or around Samed Cabana you can delight in beautiful white sand beaches, sip exotic cocktails, enjoy the world-renowned Thai cuisine in restaurants overlooking the sea, and spend the night dancing. Beach massages and local spas make this a dream place to unwind.

‘Let your hair down, take risks, expand horizons, go on a Skyros holiday.’ Mariella Frostrup. The Independent

Informal Activities and Courses

We run a variety of courses from Tai Chi and music to writing and life coaching. Courses are informal and are held on the beach, by the pool, or in a private, air-conditioned group room. They run for four days each week, with a one day break mid-session. Participants can choose up to three courses a day or take time out to make the most of their surroundings. The Skyros groups of between 20 and 40 participants are warm and friendly.

Koh Samed offers a range of activities, from walks in the interior, diving and snorkelling as well as a lively nightlife. Koh Samed is very safe and hassle free.

If they take the Skyros optional transfer, participants will also have two nights in the luxury 5-star Sofitel Silom Hotel in Bangkok. In this fascinating city there will be an excursion to one of its cultural highlights and also a chance to experience the city’s colourful nightlife. If required, Skyros can arrange extra days in Bangkok.

Skyros-in-Paradise
as many participants have called it, offers an unforgettable adventure in which one can make wonderful new friends, enjoy a different culture and be inspired.
